Where did the week go?

Wait? It’s Thursday. I suddenly realized that I didn’t post in the blog yesterday. So, sitting here to keep my promise (to myself). I only have a few minutes to pontificate before a board meeting. As I think I mentioned last week; it is truly hard to capture but a snippet of what goes on in our business throughout the week for a weekly blog post. Forewarning to my mood: It must be the eclipse, I’m feeling a little extra sentimental after the loss of a dear soul here on the peninsula. A couple actually. It’ll be Carolyn Glenn’s services this Saturday and she has been on my mind too.

But as far as the gallery and Don Nisbett Art go, we’ve had another blur of a week, with highs and low lows.

The week of the 2024 total eclipse seemed to bring an energy of multiple technical glitches. We had a major issue with our printer, I had multiple glitches as well… Blah blah about that. Cheers to moving onward and upward. Can you tell I’m scarred? lol. Mixed in with all that is a life full of blessings and stories.

I always love hearing Don’s stories recounting the day. Last night’s stories included a wonderful Spring breaking family with children. Don drew the kids caricatures while the family shopped, all ages, taking turns picking out art. One of their children was an artist. No doubt, Don gave them one of his famous artist pep talks. The story painted one of such a wonderful experience for all. There was also a lady that came back for one of our mini Don and Jenna collage paintings. I actually never even saw it before it left the gallery. I hope Don got a picture, but I’m not so sure. Shoulda woulda coulda. If memory serves me correctly, I’m pretty sure it’s the same woman that bought the red octopus. Her picture is on our Facebook page.

We are truly blessed. Thank you to everyone for such a wonderful artful life in Ilwaco. I’ve gotta go do Ilwaco stuff now. It’s fun getting in the rhythm of sharing so I hope you’ll check back soon as we progress, grow and evolve our small business in Ilwaco. -Jenna

*P.S. We’re launching our www.discoverilwaco.com page and blog soon too. (Thanks Josh Phillips!)

Another high light of the week included a visit with our friend and former neighbor, Richard Ellis.
