Getting Ready for Crab Festival

It’s hard to capture all that goes on in the gallery in a week, but with it being April already, the countdown has begun for Don’s favorite event of the year! This is currently the only offsite vendor event that we close the gallery for annually. Locals call it the “Crab Festival”, but it’s official name is the Astoria - Warrenton Seafood and Wine Festival; hosted by the Astoria Warrenton are Chamber of Commerce (AWACC). We’ve been vending there for more than 10 years I know. I’ll have to ask Don for the dates, he’s great at remembering the dates and things like that. Maybe I’ll record a video or podcast about it this year! Although, I do have plans to also work at the gallery that weekend to get ready for opening day of the Ilwaco Saturday Market on May 4th. Joe and Don can work the booth after I help with set-up. Joe used to work the booth on Sundays only and now is such a big part of the event and preparations, helping with the glass painting, etc.

Going to make myself some notes/ ideas for additional content to share related to this post:

  • Insert link to AWACC & Crab Festival event page.

  • Insert photos from past Crab Festivals with Joe
